Welcome to the Pink Pirate Studio Blog! Pink Pirate Studio is an idea I've had in my head since I made this Pink Pirate Costume for my daughter 3 years ago. Believe it or not, it was my first attempt at real sewing. When my daughter was born in 2000, I had big dreams of handmade burp cloths, quilts, and of course Halloween costumes. Well, the years went by, and the sewing machine that I HAD TO HAVE sat and collected dust, until Halloween 2008. While searching online for a cute costume for my first grader, I came across the most beautiful boutique Pirate Girl costume, with a price tag of $150.00! Right there I thought I could make it for much less, I mean how hard could it be right? After 10+ trips to Joann's, and well over $150.00 later, I had the costume. It isn’t the highest quality, but I did it. I learned something about myself through that process. I learned that if I really want to do something, I can figure out a way to do it. It may not be the most orthodox or organized way to do things, but still, I can do it, and I did it! I hope to display through the course of this blog how I express myself creatively!
