What's in the bag?

Still having fun making Halloween packages! I used a paper lunch sack to make this Halloween gift!

PEP NOTES!

What's a Pep Note you ask? As my former High School Cheerleader self would tell you, it's something I was born to make! Imagine crafty meets gift meets candy! When I was a High School Cheerleader we made them for the basketball team. The entire basketball team. I think we must have taken turns, because I can't imagine how homework could have gotten done if I was making 15+ pep notes all winter long. It was basically a card of some sort wishing the players good luck- if you happen to be dating one of said basketball players, I think candy may have been involved! Even at 16 years old, I was a crafty girl! Now that my daughter is a Middle School athlete, she has to make pep notes for her big sis on the volleyball team (shrieks of excitement)! Allowing her to make her own pep notes and not living vicariously through her has been a challenge for me, so I decided that I'd start making some to give to her! I think I'm having a little too much fun! Here are the first few I've made!

Halloween Happenings

This post will begin a series of Halloween posts on my blog!  Stay tuned for fun cards, gifts, and decor in the days to come!
Time to start thinking about Halloween! I had a great night last week making some fun Halloween projects with a good friend! This cute card was used making all Stampin' Up! products!  The bat and the ghost were made using the owl builder punch! You just cut off the feet for the ghost, and cut a bitty bat in half and glue onto the owl to make bat wings!

Character counts, always...

February 11, 2013

Just a reminder as we're sitting on the sidelines watching our kids play that character counts. Not only for our kids who are out there playing, but for those of us watching. Our kids see and hear us. They know when we're not being good sports. They learn character from watching us. How we handle winning, losing, and playing the game teaches them. Here's a freebie as a reminder- it's an 8X10 jpeg so print it out, frame it, and think often of what you want to teach your children about sports

Ninjago Valentine Box!

February 7, 2013

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. As a kid the highlight of the school year was decorating the paper bag I was given to collect my school valentines. Now that I have children, I have to stop myself from decorating for them! I have to say, they are pretty creative though. This year Cameron wanted a Ninjago decorated box. We searched Pinterest and found our inspiration. We bought more duct tape (can't have enough of that right?) and to work we went. I'm so proud of what this little guy made! The only help I gave was the cutting of the top to stuff an oatmeal container in for the head, the cutting of of the mail slot, and the drawing of the eyes. Cam did the rest himself- not bad for a 6 year old!
