Character counts, always...

Just a reminder as we're sitting on the sidelines watching our kids play that character counts. Not only for our kids who are out there playing, but for those of us watching. Our kids see and hear us. They know when we're not being good sports. They learn character from watching us. How we handle winning, losing, and playing the game teaches them. Here's a freebie as a reminder- it's an 8X10 jpeg so print it out, frame it, and think often of what you want to teach your children about sports

Ninjago Valentine Box!

February 7, 2013

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year. As a kid the highlight of the school year was decorating the paper bag I was given to collect my school valentines. Now that I have children, I have to stop myself from decorating for them! I have to say, they are pretty creative though. This year Cameron wanted a Ninjago decorated box. We searched Pinterest and found our inspiration. We bought more duct tape (can't have enough of that right?) and to work we went. I'm so proud of what this little guy made! The only help I gave was the cutting of the top to stuff an oatmeal container in for the head, the cutting of of the mail slot, and the drawing of the eyes. Cam did the rest himself- not bad for a 6 year old!
